Introduction to Digital Story Telling

This session will demonstrate how to create a digital story using Microsoft PhotoStory 3 that will allow you to build a multi media rich file with audio, text and images in a very user-friendly way. It integrates seamlessly into all Microsoft applications. (For example, you can embed Photostory into Microsoft Powerpoint.)

Participants will learn how easy it is in just a few steps to develop a movie that not only can be saved to your computer, CD's,thumb stick but can also be saved to suit a mobile phone , PDA, and their email by its incredible compatible file size.

Session Plan and Resources

This session will include both an overview presentation and hands-on activities. There will also be discussion about how to deploy the completed story via different media players eg. mobile phones, PDAs. It is designed to be delivered over 3 hrs (with a short morning tea break in between for the thirsty). Participants who wish to further their knowledge of deployment should attend the follow on Digital Story workshop.

Discuss the ability of the digital story movie to bedeployed on multiple platforms including thumb sticks and mobile devices

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this workshop participants will be able to:
Gain an understanding of the benefits of using Digital Stories in teaching and learning
Gain experience in using Microsoft Photostory 3 to publish and share content to multiple platforms
Gain an understanding of how Microsoft Photostory 3 for windows can be packaged to play on a range of devices and integrate into other microsoft application sysytems such as Microsoft Powerpoint

Software Required

Photostory 3 is a free download (so long as you have Windows XP and above) Free Download click here Photostory 3 Microsoft Windows However, you will also need to install Media Series 11 before getting started as this is the media player that photostory 3 requires to be able to play the video.
